Santa Cruz has brought together two of the brand's most recognizable graphics. The Reaper, which came out in the 80s as Corey O'Brien's pro model, and Jim Phillips' Screaming Hand, that hand with a screaming mouth that went from a skateboard graphic to a cultural symbol. It's not a reissue, it's a remix designed anew for the two to coexist on the same deck.
The construction is VX. Instead of the usual seven layers, it uses five layers of North American maple plus two layers of X technology, which results in a thinner, lighter deck with more durable pop.
The SC 344 shape is 9 inches wide by 32.15 inches long, with a 14.25-inch wheelbase. A wide and stable base, with a medium-depth ATV concave and a symmetrical kick, which works well in bowls and transitions as well as for big street skating.
