Powell Peralta Biss Potter Wasp Skateboard Deck 8.0"

The potter wasp builds its nest out of mud, small pots where it lays an egg and leaves food for the larva. Levon Biss captured it from above, with its four wings open, the front ones in translucent amber and the back ones almost black. Its yellow and black abdomen emerges from the dark background as if lit from within.

It's the same technique as the cuckoo bee: thousands of superimposed photographs to reveal details that the eye cannot capture. Here the result is more open and symmetrical, almost like a coat of arms.
