Powell Peralta Chris Hiett Skull 7-Ply Skateboard Deck 9.5"

Chris' first pro graphic depicts a skeleton breaking out of a box - a bold metaphor for overcoming boundaries and embracing authenticity. It symbolizes the idea of thinking outside the box, stepping out of one's comfort zone, and owning who you are. The design, created in collaboration with VCJ, captures the raw essence of self-discovery and transformation. Chris hopes his graphic invites skaters to recognize each other, spark conversations, and build a community, especially for those who may feel unseen or out of place.

Both Chris and Court were unaware that the graphic would hold an even deeper meaning. Court was designing the graphic when he suffered a heart attack - a shocking event that mirrored the image he was drawing: a Jack in the Box with a heart in the center radiating outward. What began as a playful idea turned into a raw, symbolic reflection on life's unpredictability and a reminder that art, emotions, and experiences are often more interconnected than we realize.
