Jerry Madrid began making surfboards in his parents' garage in Southern California in the late 1960s. When the waves weren't good enough for surfing, Jerry began modeling skateboards for himself and his friends. In 1976, Jerry officially started the business and enlisted the help of brothers Jim and Jeff.
